Promotion: The Coloring Book Queen

One of Women in Art 278 Magazine's amazing artists just informed us of an awesome new adventure she is undertaking. By now I'm sure you've heard about the coloring book craze out there, which she has now contributed to and we wish her ALL the success in the world.

Angela Treat Lyon's books are beautiful, magical and are fun for adults and kiddos alike.

So why color, you may wonder. Here's a great answer that may validate your doodles, sketches and coloring ...

"When coloring, we activate different areas of our two cerebral hemispheres, says psychologist Gloria Martínez Ayala. “The action involves both logic, by which we color forms, and creativity, when mixing and matching colors. This incorporates the areas of the cerebral cortex involved in vision and fine motor skills [coordination necessary to make small, precise movements]."  [Sited by Huffpost Arts  & Culture]

Here's a link to Angela's books. Check them out, show some love and support a fellow woman in art.
