The Great Expectations

Title: The Great Expectations
“It depicts the phases of life, like childhood, puberty, living in a big city, trying to become a person that you want, without the great expectations in life.”
Artist: Blaska Mi Eva of Skopje, Macedonia

Translated
Големите очекувања

Оваа слика ги претставува фазите на животот, како детството, пубертетот, живеењето во голем град, обидот да станеме личноста која посакуваме да бидеме, без големите очекувања од животот.

Judy Chicago on Feminist Art

More at www.judychicago.com

"For a woman to openly express her own content was extremely dangerous ... Faced with things like attitudes like 'you can't be woman and an artist, too.' The idea that there was no such thing as female content, that women didn't have a point of view ... What does that do to a young woman ... who comes out of a male experience?"
