Believe in your dreams

As artists we pour our heart and soul into the art we create. We "put it all out there" and leave a piece of us with everyone who shares a love for our art. It's an incredibly rewarding industry but we also know that it can be tough making a living as a female artist, which is why Women in Art 278 is dedicated to working with all types of artists. We work with artists who have been creating for years but are only recently selling art and we work with artists on the other end of the spectrum - women who are highly successful and are already internationally known.

No matter how successful we all are (in our own right) we do know that sometimes we can experience a bit of doubt about our art, our time dedication to creating it and our ability to sell it. During the great days, months and years or the bad ones ... know that you have a fan in your corner cheering you on.

Stay inspired, Artists. The world needs your beauty.

    Love,
                       Women in Art 278

Turning Dreams into Plans

We are already days into the new year. Are things going as planned for you? If not, do not fret! Every single day is an opportunity to try again.

Women in Art 278 is hard at work collaborating & chatting with our wonderfully talented artists, readers, clients and future advertisers. In fact, we are ordering some prints to ship off to museums to see if they might like to sell our magazine in their bookstores. What a great place to feature Women in Art 278 Magazine -- in museums FILLED with other talented artists!!

If you are looking to join us for our February issue, you can try your luck with the raffle and also purchase a single page. This way, if you win, you get a free page! If you don't though, you can always purchase an additional page so you can have a two-page spread.

Some of you have also asked about our cover page art contest. Allow us to explain our approach to art and global issues ...

Each month we select a global issue - some are positive and some are negative but all deserve to be discussed. What we want to do at Women in Art 278 is bridge our artists and global communities along with international issues because we are all in this together - for better or worse! Our current art contest is in honor of International Mother Language Day. National Public Radio's recent article sums up perfectly why it's so important to keep our native languages and our cultures alive --- click here to read the article about the last monolingual speaker of the Chickasaw language.

We will continue accepting submissions for the February issue until January 25th. If you have questions about contributing, please ask!

At Women in Art 278 Magazine, we do our best to keep costs low so that costs aren't passed along to our artists. After all, we are dedicated to keeping opportunities open for artists who otherwise are priced out of showcasing in galleries or hosting their own art shows. This magazine is like a living and ever-changing art gallery (and eco-gallery!) where we showcase the best of the best from painters to photographers and jewelry designers to wood workers.

Please invite your friends to join us on Facebook and always remember that for every 3 artists you refer, you get 1 page free. These incentives aren't for our artists who can afford pages necessarily. In fact, we hope that more artists sponsor other artists who deserve to be shown but are in need (we added a donation link to our payment page to make this step even easier!). We have already had readers sponsor artists and one artist even sponsored a fellow artist -- she simply asked that we put it toward an artist who needed it and there are PLENTY of artists who need sponsorship! We are more than happy to do this and are so honored that so many people with a love for art + opportunities are stepping forward!

Anyway, that's all the news from Women in Art 278 Magazine today. Please contact us if you have any questions. Thanks to Google Translator, we can easily chat with all of our artists and readers across the globe!

Shining Bright in the Spotlight!

Artists & Readers, I am pleased to announce that this morning we noticed our first commercial review. The review, written by Illustrators Journal, was positive and to the point. It was great seeing the artwork they selected as well -- Daniela Cecille Fodor's Acrylic Painting (featured in our November 2013 issue) was perfect for the review because of the rich colors and feminine subject.

Admittedly, it is unfortunate that magazines such as ours are classified by gender. That being said, because women are so greatly underrepresented in the art world on a professional level, it's why we chose to create a female-only art magazine. At Women in Art 278 Magazine, we support ALL artists but are dedicated to women in art. It's our goal to elevate, support and showcase a handful of amazingly talented and deserving female artists each month. Some of our artists have shown in galleries across the globe while others are simply unable to do so - either out priced or geographically [ or culturally ] restricted.

Many thanks to Illustrators Journal for checking out Women in Art 278 and giving us a positive review!

We'd also like to announce that we are working hard to have our printed edition offered at a few museums. If you have a local art museum where you'd like the magazine offered, please contact us so we can reach out to the staff directly.

Thanks again to all of our fans & artists for supporting Women in Art 278!
